Gary Pettis

Gary Pettis was a coach for the Mets in 2003 and 2004. He served as the first base coach under manager Art Howe during his two years on the team's staff.

Pettis played in the major leagues for 11 seasons. He collected 855 hits for the Angels, Tigers, Rangers and Padres. Gary was alsothe first base coach for the White Sox in 2001 and 2002.

Following his days with the Mets, Pettis became the first base coach for the Rangers.
