Frank Tanana was a pitcher for the Mets in 1993. He pitched in 29 games with the team. Tanana had seven wins and 104 strikeouts as a Met.

Following a successful 20-year career in the American League, Tanana signed with the Mets as a free agent. He had 183 innings pitched for the team in ’93. At Cincinnati on April 17, Frank pitched six innings and got the win in the Mets’ 4-1 victory over the Reds. He struck out seven batters in eight innings for the win in a 6-1 Mets triumph over the Braves on April 23 at Shea Stadium. On May 29, Tanana had eight strikeouts in seven innings and recorded the win as the Mets defeated the Reds, 4-3, at Shea. He struck out eight in seven innings for the win in the Mets’ 7-4 victory at Atlanta on June 14. At San Francisco on July 17, Frank pitched two-hit ball over seven innings to earn the win in a 3-1 Mets triumph over the Giants. He pitched eight innings and had a three-run triple in getting the win in the Mets’ 12-2 victory at Cincinnati on August 18. Tanana also struck out eight batters and got the win in a 5-4 Mets triumph over the Phillies on September 14 at Shea.

Tanana was traded to the Yankees on September 17, 1993. He appeared in three games with the Yanks to conclude his career.
