| Sent: Frank Lary |
| Received: Dennis Ribant |
The Mets and Braves made a deal of pitchers in the summer of 1964. Frank Lary was sent to Milwaukee in exchange for Dennis Ribant. Looking to the future, the Mets parted with the 34-year-old Lary (whom they purchased from the Tigers the previous May 30) for the 22-year-old Ribant.
Ribant made his major league debut with the Mets one day after the trade. He retired the only two batters he faced in a game at Philadelphia. Dennis pitched in 72 games over three seasons with the Mets. He led the team with 11 wins and a 3.20 earned run average in 1966.
Lary appeared in five games for the Braves in '64. He had one win and an ERA of 4.38 with the Milwaukee team. Frank was sold back to the Mets by the Braves before the start of the 1965 season.
