Eric Gunderson

Eric Gunderson was a pitcher for the Mets in 1994 and 1995. He made 44 relief appearances for the team. Gunderson had a 2.70 earned run average with 23 strikeouts and one win as a Met.
Gunderson signed with the Mets as a free agent during the '94 season. He made his team debut in a 7-3 Mets win over the Padres in the first game of a doubleheader at Shea Stadium on July 15. Eric also had one and two-thirds scoreless innings pitched in the Mets' 2-1 defeat in 15 innings at Philadelphia that ended the season prematurely due to the players strike on August 11.
In '95, Gunderson had 24 and one-third innings pitched for the Mets. He pitched two scoreless innings in the team's season-opening 11-9 defeat at Colorado on April 26. At Philadelphia on May 19, Eric had a pair of scoreless innings and got the win in a 5-1 Mets victory over the Phillies. He also struck out three batters in one and one-third perfect innings in the Mets' 9-8 win at Pittsburgh on July 7.
Gunderson was claimed on waivers by the Seattle Mariners on August 4, 1995. Six days later, he joined the Red Sox. Eric pitched for the Boston team until the end of the 1996 season and spent three years with the Texas Rangers. Gunderson concluded his major league career with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2000.
