Doug Linton was a pitcher for the Mets in 1994. He appeared in 32 games with the team. Linton had a 6-2 won-lost record with 29 strikeouts as a Met.

Linton came to the Mets after two seasons with the Blue Jays and Angels. At Shea Stadium on April 14, he was the winning pitcher in the Mets’ 10-9 victory over the Cubs. Doug pitched three scoreless innings and got the win in a 3-2 Mets triumph over the Padres in 15 innings on April 27 at Shea. He had two scoreless innings and the win in the Mets’ 7-4 victory over the Giants at Shea on May 4. At Montreal on May 10, Linton pitched a pair of scoreless innings for the win in a 3-2 Mets triumph over the Expos in 10 innings. In a start at Colorado on June 6, he was the winning pitcher in the Mets’ 11-3 victory over the Rockies. Doug also pitched five and one-third innings of relief for the win in the Mets’ 11-3 triumph at Florida on June 18.

In 1995 and 1996, Linton pitched for the Kansas City Royals. He missed the 1997 season due to an injury and spent a year in the Twins’ organization. Doug continued his career as a professional pitcher until 2004.
