Don Florence was a pitcher for the Mets in 1995. He made 14 relief appearances for the team. Florence had a 3-0 won-lost record with a 1.50 earned run average as a Met.
Florence joined the Mets from their AAA-level team in Norfolk during the ’95 season. At Philadelphia on August 10, he pitched a perfect bottom of the tenth and got the win in the Mets’ 5-1 victory over the Phillies in 11 innings. Don had a scoreless ninth inning for the win in a 5-4 Mets triumph over the Padres on August 24 at Shea Stadium. He also had one and one-third scoreless innings pitched for the win in the Mets’ 11-6 victory at San Francisco on September 3.
In 1996, Florence pitched in 36 games with the Orioles’ AAA-level team in Rochester to conclude his career.
