Don Baylor

Don Baylor was a coach for the Mets in 2003 and 2004. He served as a bench coach and hitting instructor during his time of the team's staff.
Baylor had a very successful career as a major league player. In 19 seasons, he had 338 home runs among 2,135 hits and set an all-time record with 267 hit-by-pitches. Don played in seven League Championship Series and three World Series during his career. As a California Angel in 1979, he was named Most Valuable Player in the American League.
Baylor was the hitting instructor for the Brewers and Cardinals in the early 1990s. From 1993 to 1998, he was the manager for Rockies. Don led the Colorado team to a National League Wild Card title in 1995. He also coached for the Braves in 1999 and managed the Cubs from 2000 to 2002.
Following his two years with the Mets, Baylor served one year as the hitting instructor for the Mariners. He returned to the Rockies as a hitting instructor in 2009.
