Desi Relaford

Desi Relaford was an infielder for the Mets in 2001. He played in 120 games with the team. Relaford had a .302 batting average in his lone season as a Met.
Relaford joined the Mets after five seasons with the Phillies and Padres. In '01, he led the team with 13 stolen bases. At Milwaukee on April 26, Desi had two singles, a double and a home run in the Mets' 12-8 loss to the Brewers. He had three singles, a stolen base and scored the winning run in the 11th inning in a 6-5 Mets victory at St. Louis on April 28. Relaford homered twice in a 12-4 Mets defeat at Colorado on May 8. He had a single, a double, a stolen base and three runs scored in the Mets' 8-0 win over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium on May 18. Desi collected two singles, a double and three RBIs in a 9-0 Mets triumph at Philadelphia on June 5. He singled three times and scored the tying run in the ninth inning of an eventual 4-3 Mets victory over the Marlins in 11 innings on July 18 at Shea. Relaford also had three singles, a double, a stolen base and three RBIs in the Mets' 9-7 triumph at Florida on September 8.
In 2002, Relaford played for the Seattle Mariners. He spent the next two seasons with the Royals and played for the Rockies in 2005. Desi spent the 2006 season with the Cardinals' AAA-level team in Memphis. He concluded his career with the Rangers in 2007.
