Dennis Musgraves

Dennis Musgraves was a pitcher for the Mets in 1965. He appeared in five games with the team. Musgraves had 11 strikeouts and a 0.56 earned run average as a Met.

Musgraves joined the Mets organization as a free agent in 1964. In '65, he pitched in 13 games for AAA-level Buffalo before being called up to the majors. Dennis pitched three scoreless innings in his major league debut as the Mets lost to the Astros, 6-2, at Shea Stadium on July 9. He allowed one run over seven innings in his only major league start in the second game of a doubleheader on July 29 at Chicago. The Mets eventually lost, 2-1, to the Cubs in 12 innings in this game.

Dennis suffered an injured elbow and missed the last two months of the '65 season. From 1966 to 1970, he continued to pitch in the Mets' minor league system. Musgraves ended his career with the Royals' AAA-level team in Omaha in 1971.
