Dave Wallace was a pitching coach for the Mets in 1999 and 2000. He served on a coaching staff under manager Bobby Valentine during his two years with the team.

As a pitcher, Wallace appeared in 13 games with the Phillies and Blue Jays between 1973 and 1978. He managed the Dodgers' AAA-level team in Albuquerque in 1983. With Dave on the Mets' coaching staff, the team won a pair of NAtional League Wild Card titles. They also became N. L. Champions in 2000.

From 2003 to 2006, Wallace was the pitching coach for the Boston Red Sox. He had the same role with the Houston Astros in 2007.
