Dave Telgheder

Dave Telgheder was a pitcher for the Mets from 1993 to 1995. He had a 7-5 won-lost record and 55 strikeouts with the team. Telgheder pitched in 37 games as a Met.
Telgheder was selected by the Mets in the free agent draft in 1989. He reached the majors in '93, pitching a total of 75 and two-thirds inning during the year. Dave got his first major league win in his first career start on June 21 as the Mets defeated the Expos, 8-3, at Shea Stadium. In this game, Telgheder doubled for his first major league hit. At Florida on June 29, he pitched three perfect innings to record his second win in the Mets' 10-9 triumph in 12 innings over the Marlins. Dave also pitched eight scoreless innings for the win in a 4-1 Mets victory at Florida on October 1.
In the strike-affected 1994 and 1995 seasons, Telgheder appeared in a total of 13 games for the Mets. His only win over the two years came in '95 with a 10-8 Mets win over the Phillies at Shea on September 16. Dave helped his own cause with two singles, a run scored and an RBI in the game.
Telgheder signed with the Oakland Athletics as a free agent following the '95 season. He pitched three seasons with the A's to conclude his major league career.
