Dave Gallagher was an outfielder for the Mets in the 1990s. He batted .258 in 197 games played in the 1992 and 1993 seasons. Dave hit 7 home runs and drove in 49 runs in his two seasons in New York.

Gallagher came to the Mets after six years in the American League. In '92, he played all three outfield positions and had 42 hits for the season. On April 14, Dave hit a two-run double to drive in the winning run in the seventh inning as the Mets defeated the Phillies, 8-5, at Shea Stadium. He hit his only homer of the year in the Mets' 6-2 win over the Cardinals on June 21. In the second game of a doubleheader against the Reds on August 28, Gallagher had two singles and a double with two RBIs in the Mets' 12-1 victory.

In 1993, Dave batted .274 for the season. At Philadelphia on May 26, he had a homer and a two-run single in the Mets' 5-4 win over the Phillies. Gallagher hit a grand slam in a 12-6 Mets win at San Francisco on July 18. He singled home the tying run in the ninth inning of the Mets' 3-2 victory in 10 innings at Atlanta on September 18. Dave also had a two-run homer and an RBI double in the Mets' 4-3 victory at Pittsburgh on September 21.

On November 24, 1993, Gallagher was traded to the Atlanta Braves for Pete Smith. After one year in Atlanta, Dave split the 1995 season between the Angels and Phillies to finish his career.
