Dave Engle

Dave Engle was a coach for the Mets in 2001 and 2002. He served under manager Bobby Valentine during his two years on the team's staff.
As a player, Dave had a nine-year career in the major leagues. He collected 431 hits with the Twins, Tigers, Expos and Brewers from 1981 to 1989. Engle was a manager in the Astros' minor league system in 1995 and 1996. He also managed the Mets' A-level Capital City (Columbia, SC) and St. Lucie teams in 1999 and 2000, respectively.
Engle's years as a Mets coaching staff member were his last in professional baseball.
