Dave Eilers

Dave Eilers was a pitcher for the Mets in 1965 and 1966. He appeared in 34 games and had a 4.44 earned run average. Eilers' won-lost record was 2-2 as a Met.

Eilers was acquired by the Mets from the Milwaukee Braves on August 18, 1965. Six days later, he recorded his first win as a member of the team in a 4-3 Mets victory over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium. Dave's first loss with the Mets came at Pittsburgh on September 21.

In the '66 season, Eilers pitched in 23 games with the Mets. On May 13, he was tagged with the loss as the Giants defeated the Mets, 5-4, in 17 innings at Shea. His lone win of the year came in the Mets' 3-2 triumph in 11 innings over the Reds at Shea on June 12. Dave pitched two innings of scoreless relief to earn the victory in the game.

Eilers completed his career as a major leaguer with the Houston Astros in 1967.
