Darryl Hamilton was an outfielder for the Mets from 1999 to 2001. He hit .283 in 150 games as a member of the team. Hamilton had 7 homers and 32 runs batted in with the Mets.

Hamilton came to New York in a trade with the Colorado Rockies on July 31, 1999. He got 57 hits in 55 games over the last two months of the season. On August 30, Darryl had a homer and three singles with three RBIs in the Mets' 17-1 win at Houston. He hit a grand slam against his former Rockies team in a 6-2 Mets victory at Shea Stadium on September 5. Hamilton also had a single, a double, a home run and three runs scored in the Mets' 11-1 win over the Phillies at Shea on September 18.

Darryl appeared in all four games of the 1999 National League Division Series. In Game 3 at Shea, he hit a two-run single as the Mets defeated the Diamondbacks, 9-2. In the National League Championship Series, Hamilton batted .353 with a double and two RBIs against the Braves.

In 2000, Hamilton missed four months of the season with a sprained left foot. In his first at bat after his return, he hit a two-run homer in a 12-5 Mets victory at Houston. One day later, Darryl tripled and scored four runs as the Mets beat the Astros, 10-3. In Game 2 of the Division Series, Hamilton doubled and scored in the 10th inning to give the Mets a 5-4 triumph over the Giants at San Francisco.

Hamilton played in 52 games for the Mets in 2001. He had 27 hits and 15 runs scored for the season. On June 2, Darryl had two singles and a double in a 7-1 Mets victory over the Florida Marlins in Miami. He hit one of five Mets doubles in a 9-0 win at Philadelphia on June 5. Hamilton hit his final major league home run at Atlanta on June 22. He was released by the Mets on July 9 to put an end to his career.
