Darren Reed

Darren Reed was an outfielder for the Mets in 1990. He played in 26 games with the team. Reed had eight hits for 17 total bases as a Met.
On May 8, 1990, Reed hit a double off the Giants' Mark Thurmond for his first major league hit. He later scored the Mets' final run in the team's 4-1 victory over San Francisco at Shea Stadium. Darren had a triple, his first major league home run and two RBIs in a 6-5 Mets loss at Shea on September 30. He also had a single, two doubles and a pair of runs scored in the Mets' season-closing 6-3 win at Pittsburgh on October 3.
Reed was traded to the Montreal Expos on April 2, 1991. An injury kept him sidelined for the entire '91 season. Darren played for the Expos and Minnesota Twins in 1992. He continued to play in the minor leagues before ending his career with the Duluth-Superior Dukes of the independent Northern League in 1996.
