Darren Oliver was a pitcher for the Mets in 2006. He appeared in 45 regular season games with the team. Oliver had a 4-1 won-lost record as a Met.

Oliver joined the Mets as a free agent after twelve major league seasons. He had a 3.44 earned run average during the ’06 season. At San Francisco on April 26, Darren pitched one and one-third scoreless innings to get the win in a 9-7 Mets victory over the Giants in 11 innings. He recorded six strikeouts in four innings in the Mets’ 6-5 win over the Braves on May 6 at Shea Stadium. Oliver had four innings of two-hit scoreless ball for the win in the Mets’ 9-8 triumph over the Phillies in 16 innings at Shea on May 23. He pitched three innings and chalked up the win in a 9-3 Mets victory at Philadelphia on June 14. Darren was the winning pitcher in the Mets’ 10-6 triumph at Atlanta on July 30. He also pitched six scoreless innings in a 5-0 Mets defeat to the Cardinals in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series at St. Louis on October 14.

From 2007 to 2009, Oliver pitched for the Angels. He joined the Rangers for the third time in his career one year later. On October 6, 2010, Darren pitched in the Texas team’s 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the American League Division Series on his 40th birthday.
