Dan Schatzeder was a pitcher for the Mets in 1990. He made six relief appearances for the team. Schatzeder had five and two-thirds innings pitched and a 0.00 earned run average as a Met.
After pitching for seven different major league teams over 14 seasons, Schatzeder came to the Mets in a trade with the Astros on September 10, 1990. He made his debut with the team four days later in a 4-1 Mets loss to the Phillies at Shea Stadium. Dan pitched two scoreless innings in the Mets’ 8-3 defeat to the Phils at Shea on September 16. He also pitched a scoreless eighth inning in the Mets’ season-closing 6-3 win at Pittsburgh on October 3.
In 1991, Schatzeder pitched in nine games for the Mets’ AAA-level Tidewater team in Norfolk, Virginia. He completed the season with the Kansas City Royals to conclude his career.
