Dan Boitano

Dan Boitano was a pitcher for the Mets in 1981. He appeared in 15 games with the team. Boitano had two wins as a Met.

Boitano came to the Mets from the Milwaukee Brewers on April 5, 1981. He began the '81 season at AAA-level Tidewater (Norfolk, Virginia) and joined the Mets after the major league players strike. In his first game with the Mets on August 16, Dan pitched two innings of the team's 5-2 win over the Phillies at Shea Stadium. He was the winning pitcher in a 7-4 Mets victory at Cincinnati on August 22. Boitano also pitched a scoreless 13th inning to get the win in the Mets' 4-3 triumph over the Pirates on September 21 at Shea.

On December 11, 1981, Boitano was traded to the Texas Rangers. He pitched in 19 games for the Texas team in 1982. Dan concluded his career with the Rangers' AAA-level team in Oklahoma City in 1983.
