Damon Buford

Damon Buford was an outfielder for the Mets in 1995. He played in 44 games with the team. Buford had 32 hits and 24 runs scored as a Met.
Buford joined the Mets in a trade with the Orioles on July 28, 1995. In his debut with the team one day later, he singled in a 2-1 Mets win over the Pirates at Shea Stadium. Damon homered to lead off the game in the Mets’ 7-5 victory at Houston on August 11. At San Francisco on September 3, he singled, doubled and scored twice in an 11-6 Mets win over the Giants. Buford had a home run and a sacrifice fly in the Mets’ 4-0 triumph at San Diego on September 5. He drove in three runs with homers in the first two innings of a 10-5 Mets win over the Astros on September 13 at Shea. Damon also had two singles and three runs scored in the Mets’ 10-3 victory at Atlanta on September 19.
In 1996, Buford was traded to the Texas Rangers. He spent two seasons with the Rangers and two more with the Boston Red Sox. Damon played for the Chicago Cubs in 2000 and 2001. He continued his career in the minor leagues until 2003.
