D. J. Carrasco

Daniel J. “D. J.” Carrasco is a pitcher for the Mets. He joined the team in 2011. Carrasco had pitched six major league seasons before coming to the Mets.

In ’11, Carrasco appeared in 42 games for the Mets. He had one win and 27 strikeouts for the year. At Philadelphia on April 5, D. J. had one and two-thirds scoreless innings in the Mets’ 7-1 win over the Phillies. He pitched two perfect innings in a 4-0 Mets victory at Atlanta on June 15. Carrasco hurled a scoreless bottom of the ninth to finish off the Mets’ 6-0 win at Los Angeles on July 5. He also recorded the win with a scoreless top of the eighth in a 5-4 Mets triumph over the Padres on August 9 at Citi Field.
