Craig Shipley

Craig Shipley was an infielder for the Mets in 1989. He appeared in four games and got to bat 7 times as a member of the team. Shipley was the first Australian-born major leaguer in over a century.
Shipley came to the Mets from the Dodgers in a trade for John Gibbons on April 1, 1988. After two seasons in the Mets' minor league system, he joined the parent club in September of '89. Craig got a single and scored two runs in his first game as a Met (a 13-1 win over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium) on September 7. He also scored the final Shea run of the 1980s in the Mets' 5-3 loss to the Phillies on September 27.
During the 1990s, Shipley played for the Padres, Astros and Angels.
