Chuck Taylor was a relief pitcher for the Mets in 1972. He appeared in 20 games with the team. Taylor had 31 innings pitched and two saves as a Met.

Taylor came to the Mets in an eight-player trade with the Cardinals in October of 1971. He split the ’72 season between the Mets and the team’s AAA-level Tidewater affiliate in Norfolk, Virginia. At San Diego on April 25, Chuck pitched three innings of one-hit shutout ball to earn the save in a 2-1 Mets win over the Padres. He also pitched the final three and two-thirds innings for a save in the Mets’ 7-3 victory over the Expos at Shea Stadium on May 16.

Taylor was sold to the Milwaukee Brewers on September 13, 1972. He pitched in five games for the Milwaukee team over the rest of the season. From 1973 to 1976, Chuck pitched for the Montreal Expos to conclude his career.
