Chuck McElroy was a pitcher for the Mets in 1999. He made 15 relief appearances for the team. McElroy had seven strikeouts in 13 and one-third innings pitched as a Met.

In '99, McElroy came to the Mets in a trade with the Rockies. In his debut with the team on August 1, he had one and two-thirds perfect innings in a 5-4 Mets win in 13 innings at Chicago. Chuck pitched a scoreless inning in the Mets' 9-3 victory over the Padres on August 12 at Shea Stadium. He had three strikeouts in two innings pitched in a 7-5 Mets loss to the Cardinals in a doubleheader nightcap at Shea on August 22. McElroy also pitched a scoreless ninth inning to finish off a 17-1 Mets victory at Houston on August 30.

McElroy was traded to the Orioles after the '99 season. In 2000, he pitched for the Baltimore team and for the San Diego Padres. Chuck concluded his 13-year major league career with the Padres in 2001.
