The Mets and Phillies made a deal midway through the 1967 season. Chuck Hiller was sent to Philadelphia for Phil Linz in an exchange of infielders who were coming to the end of their careers. The trade provided little production for the teams.
Linz batted .209 with no homers and 18 RBIs in 102 games for the Mets in 1967 and 1968, his final major league seasons. Hiller batted .302 for the Phils in 31 games over the rest of the '67 season. Chuck finished his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates in '68.
