Calvin Schiraldi

Calvin Schiraldi was a pitcher for the Mets in 1984 and 1985. He made seven starts and eight relief appearances with the team. Schiraldi had two wins and 37 strikeouts as a Met.
Schiraldi was taken by the Mets out of the University of Texas in the first round of the 1983 major league draft. He got into five games with the Mets in September of '84. In his major league debut on September 1, Calvin got a no-decision in a 10-6 Mets win over the Padres at Shea Stadium.
In 1985, Schiraldi pitched in 10 games for the Mets. He recorded his only wins with the team during the season. At St. Louis on April 22, Calvin pitched six innings for his first major league win as the Mets defeated the Cardinals, 7-6. At San Diego on June 2, he was the winning pitcher in a 7-3 Mets victory over the Padres.
On November 13, 1985, Schiraldi was traded to the Red Sox in an eight-player deal. He had 12 wins and 15 saves in two seasons with Boston team. Calvin also pitched for the Cubs, Padres and Rangers before the end of his career in 1991.
