Brent Strom

Brent Strom was a lefthanded pitcher for the Mets in 1972. He made five starts and six relief appearances as a member of the team. Strom pitched 30 and one-third innings with the Mets.
Strom made his major league debut on July 31, 1972. Starting against the Expos at Shea Stadium, he struck out seven batters in six and two-thirds innings while pitching two-hit ball. However, Brent wound up with a no-decision in the Mets eventual 4-2 win. Strom also pitched two innings in the Mets' 11-8 comeback win at Houston on September 2.
On November 27, 1972, Strom was traded with Bob Rauch to the Cleveland Indians for Phil Hennigan. On April 9, 1973, he recorded his first major league win with a complete game against the Yankees. Brent retired former Met Ron Swoboda for the final out of this game. Strom also pitched for the San Diego Padres from 1975 to 1977. He ended his career in the minor leagues in 1981.
Strom went on to become a coach in the major and minor leagues.
