Bob W. Johnson

Bob W. Johnson was an infielder for the Mets in 1967. He played in 90 games, batting .348 with five home runs and 27 runs batted in. Johnson hit a home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Mets a 3-2 win over the Atlanta Braves at Shea Stadium on August 8. Bob also had three singles, a two-run triple and a pair of runs scored in the Mets' 6-5 win over the Pirates in the first game of a doubleheader at Pittsburgh on August 17.

Johnson played with the Kansas City Athletics, Washington Senators and Baltimore Orioles for over seven seasons before joining the Mets. Following the '67 season, he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds for Art Shamsky. He split the 1968 season between the Reds and Braves and the 1969 season with the Cardinals and Oakland Athletics. He ended his major league career with Oakland in 1970.
