Bob Myrick was a lefthanded pitcher for the Mets from 1976 to 1978. He appeared in 82 games and had a 3.48 earned run average. Myrick recorded 3 wins and 73 strikeouts with the Mets.

Myrick pitched 27 and two-thirds innings in the 1976 season. He got his first major league win on July 27 as the Mets defeated the Phillies, 4-1, at Veterans Stadium. In this game, Bob drove in the winning run.

In 1977, Myrick pitched in 44 games in his first full season as a Met. He struck out 49 batters while getting 2 wins and 2 saves during the year. Bob was the winning pitcher in the Mets' 3-2 victory over the Giants at Shea Stadium on August 5. In the second game of a doubleheader at Pittsburgh on August 12, he got a run-scoring single for his first major league hit. In Myrick's second win of '77, he pitched 3 and two-thirds innings of shutout relief as the Mets defeated the Cubs, 7-3, on September 11 at Shea.

In a doubleheader nightcap on September 18, 1977, Myrick recorded his first major league save as the Mets beat the Cubs, 6-0, at Shea. In the game, Bob pitched two and one-third hitless innings and drove in the Mets' final run with a single. In a 6-3 Mets victory at St. Louis on September 30, Myrick pitched three and one-third innings for the save in Jon Matlack's final game (and win) as a Met.

Myrick pitched in 17 games for the Mets in 1978. He made his final appearance in the Mets' 8-7 win over the Braves at Shea on May 18. Bob completed the '78 season with the Mets' AAA-level Tidewater team in Norfolk, Virginia.

On June 15, 1979, Myrick was traded with Mike Bruhert to the Texas Rangers for Dock Ellis. In 1980, he made a brief return to the Mets organization with two games for Tidewater. Bob ended his career with the Cubs' AAA-level team in Iowa in 1981.
