Bob Moorhead

Bob Moorhead was a pitcher for the Mets in 1962 and 1965. He appeared in a total of 47 games with the team. Moorhead had 119 and two-thirds innings pitched as a Met.

Moorhead made his major league debut with three innings in the Mets' inaugural game at St. Louis on April 11, 1962. He pitched four scoreless innings of two-hit ball in the Mets' 7-2 loss to the Pirates on April 15 at the Polo Grounds. Bob pitched seven innings and suffered his first loss in a 6-3 Mets defeat to the Reds in the second game of a doubleheader at the Polo Grounds on August 5. He also struck out four batters in six innings as the Mets defeated the Pirates, 5-4, in a doubleheader nightcap at home on August 21.

After spending the next two and one-half seasons in the minor leagues, Moorhead returned to the Mets in August of 1965. He made nine relief appearances over the rest of the season. Bob recorded five strikeouts for the Mets in '65.

In 1966, Moorhead pitched in 13 games for the Mets' A-level team in Auburn, New York.
