Bob Heise

Bob Heise was an infielder for the Mets in the late 1960s. He played in 26 games for the team from 1967 to 1969. Heise batted .295 and scored 11 runs as a Met.
Bob made his major league debut with the Mets on September 12, 1967. In the game in Atlanta, he singled off the Braves' Jay Ritchie for his first major league hit. He got two singles and his first major league run batted in during the Mets' 5-4 loss to the Braves on September 14. Five days later, Heise hit a game-tying, two-run double and scored the winning run in the Mets' 6-3 triumph over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium.
Heise played for the Mets' AAA-level teams at Jacksonville in 1968 and Tidewater (Norfolk, Virginia) in 1969. He was called up to the Mets in September of each year and played in a total of 10 games. On September 25, 1968, Bob got a single to drive in the Mets' first run of a 3-0 win over the Braves in Atlanta. He also doubled and scored a run in a 5-0 Mets win at Philadelphia on September 26, 1969.
On December 12, 1969, Heise and Jim Gosger were traded to the San Francisco Giants for Ray Sadecki and Dave Marshall. During the 1970s, Bob played for the Giants, Brewers, Cardinals, Angels, Red Sox and Royals. He ended his career in 1977.
