Blas Minor was a pitcher for the Mets in 1995 and 1996. He pitched in 52 games with the team. Minor had four wins and one save as a Met.

Minor spent three seasons with the Pirates before joining the Mets in ’95. In the home opener on April 28, he was the winning pitcher in the Mets’ 10-8 victory over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium. Blas pitched a scoreless tenth inning and got the win in a 5-4 Mets triumph over the Marlins at Shea on June 15. He had one and one-third scoreless innings pitched for the win in the Mets’ 7-6 victory over the Reds on June 30 at Shea. Minor pitched the final three innings for the save in a 10-5 Mets win over the Padres at Shea on August 25. He also got the win in an 8-4 Mets triumph over the Braves on September 30 at Shea.

In ’96, Minor pitched 25 and two-thirds innings for the Mets. In the season opener at Shea on April 1, he had one and one-third scoreless innings in the Mets’ 7-6 win over the Cardinals. Blas had three perfect innings in a 3-0 Mets loss to the Cubs on May 12 at Shea. He also had three scoreless and hitless innings in a 6-2 Mets loss at San Francisco on May 19.

Minor was traded to the Mariners on June 9, 1996. He pitched in 11 games with the Seattle team over the rest of the season and 11 more with the Astros in 1997. Blas spent two years in the Brewers’ minor league system and concluded his career with the Torreon Algodoneros of the Mexican League in 2000.
