Bill Pecota
From The Met Wiki
Bill Pecota was an infielder for the Mets in 1992. He had 61 hits for 80 total bases in his only year with the team. Pecota played in 117 games as a member of the Mets.
Pecota joined the Mets in a trade with the Royals in December of 1991. In '92, he appeared at all four infield positions for the Mets. At Shea Stadium on April 13, he singled home the Mets only two runs in a 3-2 loss to the Phillies. He hit a three-run double off Bob Ojeda in a 4-1 Mets win on May 15 at Los Angeles. Bill hit his first home run as a Met in a 4-2 loss to the Pirates in 16 innings at Shea on August 10. He also had a two-run homer in the Mets' 11-4 win on August 20 at Los Angeles.
On September 26, 1992, Pecota pitched the eighth inning of the Mets' 19-2 loss at Pittsburgh. He gave up a leadoff home run to the Pirates' Andy Van Slyke and retired the next three batters. This was the first time that a position player ever took the mound for the Mets in a game.
