Bart Shirley

Bart Shirley was a second baseman for the Mets in 1967. He played in six games with the team. Shirley was hitless in 12 at bats and had one run scored as a Met.

Shirley was selected by the Mets from the Dodgers in the Rule V draft on November 28, 1966. At Philadelphia on April 15, 1967, he scored as a pinch-runner in a 6-2 Mets loss to the Phillies. Bart was in the Mets' starting lineup three times in '67. He was returned to the Dodgers on May 18 and finished the season in the minor leagues.

In 1968, Shirley played in 39 games for the Dodgers. He spent the next two seasons with the Dodgers' AAA-level team in Spokane, Washington. Bart also played for the Chunichi Dragons of Japan's Central League in 1971 and 1972.
