1965: The Mets defeat Sandy Koufax in a 5-2 win over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium. It is their first victory ever over Koufax after 13 losses to him. Tug McGraw is the winning pitcher for the Mets.

1968: Jim McAndrew gets his first major league victory with a 1-0 shutout over the Cardinals at St. Louis.

1969: Jim McAndrew pitches a 3-0 shutout over the Padres at San Diego.

1974: The Mets score three runs in the ninth inning for a 5-4 win over the Astros at Shea Stadium.

1984: The Mets defeat the Giants, 11-6, at Shea Stadium. In the game, Kelvin Chapman hits the Mets' only grand slam of the season.

1998: Hideo Nomo pitches a three-hit complete game in a 4-1 Mets win over the Giants at San Francisco.

2011: Chris Capuano strikes out 13 batters and pitches a two-hit shutout in a 6-0 Mets win over the Braves at Citi Field.
