1964: The Mets sweep a doubleheader with 2-1 (in 10 innings) and 5-4 wins over the Cubs at Shea Stadium. Willard Hunter in the winning pitcher in both games.

1970: The Mets score three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the Reds, 5-4, in the first game of a doubleheader at Shea Stadium. The Reds win the second game, 7-5.

1977: Lenny Randle singles home the winning run in the ninth inning to give the Mets a 2-1 victory over the Astros at Shea Stadium.

1983: The Mets defeat the Padres, 8-3, at San Diego. Walt Terrell pitches a complete game and gets three hits, one of which is a three-run homer.

2005: The Mets get a total of 17 hits in a 14-1 win over the Diamondbacks at Arizona.

2009: The Mets lose to the Phillies, 9-7, at Citi Field. Jeff Francoeur hits into an unassisted triple play turned by the Phils' Eric Bruntlett to end the game.
