1962: Marv Throneberry hits a three-run homer in the ninth inning to give the Mets a 5-4 win over the Pirates in Game 2 of a doubleheader at the Polo Grounds.
1964: Jack Fisher pitches a complete game shutout in a 7-0 Mets win over the Cubs at Shea Stadium.
1966: The Mets sweep a doubleheader, 6-5 and 5-1, at Philadelphia. In Game 2, Tug McGraw pitches a two-hit complete game over the Phillies.
1972: Jim Beauchamp hits his first two home runs of the season on his 33rd birthday. Beauchamp's second homer comes in the bottom of the ninth inning off Houston's Jim Ray to give the Mets a 4-2 win over the Astros.
1973: John Milner gets a run-scoring single in the ninth inning to give the Mets a 2-1 win over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium.
1979: The Mets defeat the Astros, 5-0, at Shea Stadium. Due to a strange series of events and a Houston protest, the final out of the game is not recorded until the next day.
1983: The Mets complete a three-game series sweep with a 4-3 win over the Giants at San Francisco. Jose Oquendo hits his first major league home run in the game.
1991: The Mets split a doubleheader with the Cardinals at Shea Stadium. The 8-0 win in Game 2 ends the Mets' 11-game losing streak.
1995: The Mets score two runs in the 11th inning for a 5-4 win over the Giants at Shea Stadium. Joe Orsulak doubles to drive in the tying run and Jose Vizcaino's single wins it.
2004: The Mets defeat the Giants, 11-9, in 12 innings at San Francisco. Bartolome Fortunato records the only save of his major league career.
2007: The Mets score two runs in the ninth inning for a 7-6 win over the Padres at Shea Stadium.
2008: Carlos Delgado goes 5-for-5 and drives in three runs in a 5-4 Mets win over the Braves at Shea Stadium.
