Armando Reynoso was a pitcher for the Mets in 1997 and 1998. He pitched in 27 games with the team. Reynoso had 13 wins and 87 strikeouts as a Met.
In '97, Reynoso came to the Mets after six seasons with the Braves and Rockies. In his debut with the team on April 15, he was the winning pitcher in a combined shutout with reliever Toby Borland in a 5-0 Mets victory over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium. Armando had seven strikeouts in eight innings to earn the win in the Mets' 4-1 triumph at Houston on May 7. He pitched seven innings for the win in an 8-4 Mets victory at Philadelphia on May 24. Reynoso had seven innings pitched and got the win in the Mets' 10-3 triumph over the Phillies on May 31 at Shea. He pitched a five-hit shutout and had a run-scoring single in a 6-0 Mets win over the Marlins at Shea on June 5. Armando was also the winning pitcher in the Mets' 8-3 victory at Pittsburgh on June 28.
Reynoso had 68 and one-third innings pitched in '98. After four months on the disabled list, he won his first five decisions and compiled a 7-3 won-lost record for the season. At Chicago on July 24, Armando pitched eight innings of five-hit shutout ball for the win in the Mets' 5-0 victory over the Cubs in the first game of a doubleheader. He allowed two hits in seven innings and got the win in a 9-3 Mets triumph at Los Angeles on August 2. Reynoso was the winning pitcher against his former Rockies team in the Mets' 4-3 victory at Colorado on August 8. He recorded a win in a 5-4 Mets victory at Arizona on August 15. Armando had seven strikeouts in seven shutout innings to earn his fifth straight win in the Mets' 1-0 victory over the Cardinals in a doubleheader nightcap on August 21 at Shea. He doubled, scored a run and pitched eight innings for the win in a 4-1 Mets triumph at San Diego on September 2. Reynoso also recorded seven strikeouts in eight innings and hit his second double of the year to get the win in the Mets' 6-2 triumph at Philadelphia on September 9.
Reynoso joined the Diamondbacks as a free agent after the '98 season. He pitched four years with the Arizona team to conclude his major league career.
